I’m surprised that Claire was # 1. It seemed she didn’t appear as much unlike Natalie and Spencer. I’m not so surprised that Tempest and Samantha was high up on the list.
I was shocked that Claire came out on top, too. I figured Samantha and Tempest would be up there, as well as Spencer. I also thought Diane would be higher!
I think what happened with Claire is the same thing that happened with Danielle in 2014: she wasn’t really a lead character, but she was supporting in a TON of stuff. In 2014, Danielle had her relationship with Matt, the mini-triangle with Jimmy and Ryan that led to her and Ryan reuniting, all Elly’s drama before her departure, and being Molly’s main confidant re: Philip. Claire was kind of the same this year. She was heavily involved in the Yvette thing, which turned into the Sam/Tempest drama, but she was also big in the Spencer story (both as his mom and a nurse). So she just racked up a lot of episodes where she wasn’t the focus or driving the action.
