Thoughts from the producer:
- When I resolved to make sure original character Tim Fisher was active in story in 2018, I had no idea he’d wind up tying for most appearances of anyone! That was a really nice surprise. Natalie being up there with him was expected, though. She drove a lot of story during the year.
- Spencer wound up in a lower place than I would’ve guessed. He still appeared plenty, but I would’ve thought he’d wind up near Natalie and Jason in the rankings.
- There were several contract characters (Alex, Trevor, Tempest) who appeared far less than I thought they did. That group had heavy story in 2017 and were on the backburner in 2018, but I’m shocked they appeared as seldom as they did. That’s something I’ll keep in mind for the characters who rotate off the frontburner in 2019 and beyond.
- When I was compiling the rankings, Conrad was up near the top for the first half of the year. He’s very much a secondary character, so I was shocked that he might turn out to be a leader. Once Paula and Rosie’s legal issues resolved mid-year, his numbers leveled out, though.
