When a set of incorrect prototypes for the upcoming spring/summer line was delivered to Objection Designs, it appeared that Tori had made serious errors in her work. Although Tori swore that she had input the information correctly and even double-checked it, Molly realized that the errors occurred on a night that Zane came by the office to surprise Tori. She expressed concern to her niece about the way Zane was keeping tabs on and exerting influence over Tori, and she even asked Tori not to have Zane come to the offices anymore. Finn pitched in to help correct the errors, and Trevor stayed late to help him out. Diane, who was working with Zane at KBAY, expressed similar concerns about him to Sarah.

Travis and Rosie settled into life with their foster daughter, Gabrielle. They had some friends and relatives over to meet the baby. On the way out, Tempest ran into Samantha. When Samantha asked if they could be friends, Tempest kissed her as a way of showing that she still held feelings for Sam. They were unaware that Jaq, arriving for the party, saw them kissing. Jaq snuck off without making their presence known.

Tempest’s brother, Isaac, got a job working as a doctor in the E.R. at King’s Bay Memorial. He was curious about Tempest and Diane’s history, but Tempest was reluctant to tell him the full story of what had happened surrounding Chase’s birth and adoption. Isaac and Diane soon had another passionate hook-up, but Diane put up a wall afterward. Sarah speculated that Diane seemed fearful of Isaac finding out about the uglier parts of her history, especially how Samantha had been conceived. Isaac was pleased when Tempest introduced him to their little brother, Chase, as well as Alex and Trevor. But Diane continued to resist Isaac’s efforts to get closer to her.

As Jason and Sabrina’s relationship progressed, he hoped that she and Sophie would get to know each other better and planned a dinner for the three of them. During the dinner, Sophie behaved horribly, copping an attitude and making a series of macabre references, in an effort to scare Sabrina off. Jason reached his limit when Sophie talked about Courtney’s murder and sent Sophie upstairs. Sabrina excused herself right afterward. Jason tried to talk to Sophie about her feelings and realized that he might have to put his daughter ahead of his relationship. Finally he and Sabrina decided to continue dating but to keep their relationship separate from Jason’s home life for the time being. Sophie confided in Bree that she didn’t like Sabrina having the same name as the person who’d killed her mother.

Spencer learned, courtesy of Samantha, that Elly knew he and Natalie were sleeping together. He asked Elly to meet up so that he could clarify what was going on, and he impulsively kissed her. Their flirtatious sparring turned when Spencer referenced Anatoli, the law partner with whom she’d had an affair during law school, and Elly slapped him. Natalie realized that Spencer had actual feelings for Elly.

Landon began to suspect that Zane had sabotaged Tori’s work and caused the errors at Objection in order to get her fired. When he shared his concerns with Sarah and Matt, the trio cooked up a plan to prove Zane’s guilt. While Diane kept Zane stuck at work with a fake emergency and Tori was with her parents and Billy, Landon went to Tori and Zane’s apartment, planning to use a spare key to let himself in and snoop on Zane’s computer for evidence that he had hacked Objection’s system. Before he could enter the apartment, however, he was interrupted by Helen Chase, who had come to bring Tori and Zane a pot of chili she’d made. Landon pretended to leave so that Helen would leave, then doubled back. Meanwhile, Zane told Diane that the only way he could fix her computer was with a codec that he had on a flash drive… at home. In spite of her protests, he left the office. Landon went back upstairs and began loading the files onto a flash drive, just as Sarah called to warn him (thanks to Diane) that Zane was headed home. Landon scrambled out of there, but Zane caught him locking up. The conflict between the two escalated into a physical fight, and Zane was choking Landon into unconsciousness when Helen returned and knocked Zane over the head with the chili pot to stop him.

Zane was taken to the hospital but only had a concussion. Landon passed the flash drive to Sarah, but there was nothing incriminating on it. It seemed Zane hadn’t been the one to sabotage Tori’s work after all. Zane told Tori that he’d caught Landon breaking into their apartment. Desperate to cover, Landon told Tori that he’d only been trying the door because he needed to tell her something: that he had feelings for her. Tori was shocked by his admission and appalled that Zane had tried to hurt Landon, but she opted to stick by Zane after he made a big show of apologizing to Landon for the “misunderstanding.” There was another snafu at Objection when the venue for a showcase was scheduled incorrectly, but it occurred while Zane was in the hospital, meaning that he couldn’t be the one sabotaging Objection’s operations. The cunning Vice President of Design, Gia Vincent, took these incidents as further evidence of Molly’s distraction with her personal life harming the company.

Meanwhile, Finn expressed interest in moving up at Objection and in the fashion world. Alex was upset when he learned  that Trevor had stayed late at work to help Finn fix the orders that Tori had been accused of messing up, which Trevor had failed to mention. Finn, who was renting the Brooks family home with Jaq, continued to flirt with Trevor at every turn. As for the troubles at Objection, Loretta Ragan took secret meetings with an unknown associate who was working to bring down Objection from the inside.

While Paula encouraged Molly to reunite with Brent, Molly became preoccupied with baby Gabrielle after she learned that Travis and Rosie were fostering the child. When Brent, who hoped to get back together with Molly, came to see her to broach the subject, she bombarded him with questioning about Gabrielle and wondered if the baby could somehow be theirs. Brent reminded her that their baby had been a boy. Nevertheless, when Molly ran into Travis and Rosie with little Gabrielle, she was overcome with emotion. Travis again attempted to propose to Rosie, but his plans were interrupted. He finally carved out time for a romantic picnic on the beach, but Rosie beat him to the punch by getting down on one knee first. A shocked Travis revealed that he had been trying to propose to her. Laughing, the two accepted one another’s proposals.

A threatening note for Jaq was left in the Brooks’ mailbox. Samantha and Jaq reported it to the police, and soon afterward, another threatening note appeared. Sam decided to move in with Jaq and Finn to provide extra protection. They also installed a doorbell camera. When Jason found a set of magazines with cutout letters in a filing cabinet in his office, he couldn’t help but wonder if Tempest was the one leaving the notes for Jaq. Sabrina advised him to ask Tempest about it. When he did, Tempest was horrified and insulted that he would accuse her.

Claire overheard Loretta invoking Sonja Kahele’s name as a means of threatening Natalie. She reported back to Tim, and they wondered if Sonja could somehow be the key to bringing down Loretta. They decided that they had to track down Sonja and enlisted Sarah, who investigated and discovered that Sonja was in Kauai. Tim and Claire traveled there to question Sonja and found her at the address Sarah had given them. They questioned her about her connection to Loretta, but Sonja — fearful that they’d learn she had accepted payments to keep Spencer’s memory from returning — acted too afraid to say anything and turned them away. Convinced there was something more to it, Claire returned to the house and found Sonja with a toddler boy she called TJ. When confronted, Sonja insisted the boy was her nephew.  Claire returned to the hotel and told Tim — but by the time they got back to the house, there was no one there. A neighbor told them that Sonja and the child had seemingly left. Tim and Claire returned to King’s Bay, desperate to find Sonja and discover if the little boy could be Tim’s, though they once again had no leads.

Family and friends gathered at The Wild Lady to celebrate Travis and Rosie’s wedding. Rosie’s brother, Sebastian, came to town for the event, and the wedding itself went off without a hitch. Travis and Rosie decided after the ceremony that they wanted to adopt Gabrielle permanently. At the same time, Molly, who felt drawn to the child, told Brent of her own intentions to adopt her. Travis and Rosie were upset when they overheard Molly speculate to Tim that they could be in over their heads with an infant and even imply that Rosie hadn’t tried very hard to find out who’d left the baby at the police station in the first place.

Chastised by her family for this misstep, a frazzled Molly went to the hospital to confront Dr. Longo about the day she’d given birth. When the doctor refused to engage, Molly became irate and began striking him. She was arrested and charged with assault. Brent called in Elly, who quickly got Molly released. When Conrad, whom Molly had already called, arrived, he offered Elly a job working with him. Elly accepted, though she remained conflicted about working in law because of her past. Molly returned to the office to find that word of her arrest had spread and that Gia, in particular, was gunning for her.

Following the assault, Dr. Longo met with Loretta in secret. He admitted to her that he hadn’t dropped off Molly and Brent’s child out of town, but instead at the KBPD. He reassured a perturbed Loretta that Molly and Brent still thought their child had been a boy, so they’d never be able to make the connection. Soon afterward, Molly was shocked to show up to Objection and find that her badge did not work. She learned that the board had held an emergency meeting following her arrest and had voted to place Molly on indefinite leave. They installed Gia in her place. This left both Molly and Tori out of work. Later, Loretta met with her plant at Objection — who turned out to be Finn! Finn, eager to insinuate himself further into the company, got himself hired as Gia’s new assistant.

After losing her job at Objection, Tori leaned on her friendship with Landon. Zane was furious when he used the tracker he’d placed on her car and realized that she was at Landon’s apartment one day. Zane then rushed a marriage proposal, and feeling like she had nothing else solid in her life, Tori accepted. Zane was all too eager to announce the news to Tori’s family, who felt that they had to pretend to be okay with the engagement for fear of losing Tori altogether. Landon admitted to Travis that his feelings for Tori were very real. Tori pressed Zane about why she hadn’t met his family yet, and he insisted that he was far too estranged from his family to want them to be a part of his and Tori’s wedding or life.

Isaac accompanied Tempest to Travis and Rosie’s wedding, and she became suspicious of his interactions with Diane. For her part, Diane was irked to see Isaac chatting with Claire. When they had a confrontation in a private area, Tempest was shocked to walk in on them kissing. Realizing why Isaac had really come to town, she stormed out of the wedding, but Isaac and Diane chased after her and tried to explain themselves. Confused by the level of drama, Isaac asked Diane what the real history between her and Tempest was. She finally admitted to him how messy things had gotten around the time of Chase’s birth, as well as the horrible family secret that Tempest had exposed. Isaac was thrown and admitted that he needed time to process.

Shortly after Tempest rushed out, Jaq left the wedding reception early, citing an upset stomach. After getting home, they let Samantha know that they’d found another threatening note. This one had been left on their car, out of sight of the doorbell cam. Brent came to investigate and found a yellow hair clip at the scene. Samantha recognized it as one that she’d seen Tempest wearing. When she discussed the situation with Jason and Sabrina, they felt obligated to share their own previous suspicions about Tempest. Samantha was reluctant to turn the police on a Black woman, let alone one she cared for so deeply, and wrestled with what to do.

At the same time, Diane realized that the timing didn’t line up for Tempest to have left the note after the wedding, since she’d stayed behind with Diane and Isaac — which no one else knew. Diane confronted Jaq and accused them to planting the notes to frame Tempest. Jaq turned the tables on Diane, threatening to reveal a recording of a phone call proving that Diane purposely interfered with Samantha and Tempest’s plans to go to Idaho the prior year. Afterward, a nervous Jaq tried to backtrack with Samantha, hoping to downplay the letters so they wouldn’t be caught.

However, Brent noticed a photo of Tempest wearing the yellow hair clip and arrested her. After being arraigned, Tempest was surprised to learn she’d made bail. Claire hurried to the station to get her, but Tempest was already gone, having apparently been bailed out by someone else. Claire ripped into Brent for arresting Tempest. When she couldn’t get a hold of Tempest, Claire feared that she might be about to do something impulsive. Tempest and Diane soon showed up together to see Jaq and Sam. Diane was the one who’d bailed out Tempest! Diane then came clean about Jaq’s blackmail effort and declared that helping Tempest was worth the sacrifice. She explained how Tempest couldn’t have left the note for Jaq on the night of the wedding and that Jaq had been framing Tempest. Jaq finally admitted the truth and was charged for their crimes, while Samantha moved out of the house. However, Sam wasn’t ready to face Diane just yet. Isaac was surprised to learn what Diane had done to help his sister. Zane insisted that he could help Jaq get Samantha back. An apologetic Jason was thankful when Tempest decided to stay on at the arena (with a raise), and the two reconciled. After a talk with Tempest, Samantha forgave Diane, realizing that her mother had grown and changed.

While helping clean up after the wedding, Elly met Rosie’s brother, Sebastian, and hooked up with him. The next morning, Spencer was disheartened to see them out to breakfast, clearly having spent the night together. He later became alarmed when he saw messages from Elly on Loretta’s phone. He tailed Loretta and found her having a secret meeting with Elly. When Spencer confronted Elly, she finally came clean about what Loretta was holding over her: her affair with Anatoli, the partner at the law firm where she’d interned, had resulted in a pregnancy. Anatoli, already facing a divorce, pressured her into having an abortion and then “helped” her by tampering with her bar exam results to ensure that she passed. Elly feared all that coming out because, if her bar exam were looked into and found to have been tampered with, she would lose her license. Loretta had somehow found out and was using it to make Elly do her bidding — particularly where Molly’s legal fortunes were concerned. Feeling backed into a corner, Elly suggested that Molly plead guilty to the assault charges (which would serve Loretta’s agenda), but Molly refused. Molly wanted to proceed with a lawsuit against the hospital and Dr. Longo instead. Elly confided in Spencer about her dilemma, and he vowed to help her break free of Loretta’s control.

Christian felt left out when Marcus expressed interest in dating Bree, although he was not ready to admit that he had feelings for Marcus himself. Christian and Sophie were alarmed to realize that Caleb was hanging out with Jasmine again, and as things became more stressful at home, he continued to sneak off with her more and more often.

When Molly brought over a gift for Gabrielle, Travis felt compelled to accept it, and he allowed Molly to spend some time with the baby. He simply told Rosie that the rocking horse had come from his family, and Rosie was surprised to learn that he’d fudged the truth.

Sarah reported to Tim about her investigation into Sonja’s whereabouts. She determined that Sonja had taken a flight to the mainland and that the child she was traveling with was legally named Timothy Joseph Kahele. Convinced the boy was his son, Tim became more desperate than ever to find them.
