This past year was a tough one for me, in terms of Footprints. My interest in King’s Bay and the Fishers hasn’t waned at all, but making a career transition and adjusting to married life consumed a lot of time and energy! I’m proud of the way that I managed to keep up with my writing at all, even if 2024 didn’t see as many episodes posted as I’d have liked — but we have some great story momentum going into 2025, and I’m feeling optimistic about the time I’ll be able to spend on the series in the coming months. Here’s what you can expect as Footprints glides into a shiny new year…

Who Killed Loretta Ragan?: This is the major story that carries us into 2025. Loretta made a lot of enemies, so there are plenty of folks with strong motives to have done her in. This tale will rope in a lot of King’s Bay residents in a variety of ways. As we begin 2025, it seems as if Finn has been cleared and suspicions are moving on to Natalie. Brent and the KBPD are working hard to untangle the various clues, but this isn’t just a whodunnit: relationships will be tested and twisted because of this case. We already know that Travis and Elly are hiding some secret about what happened the night Loretta died, and it won’t be long before we’re privy to more details about that. Travis and Rosie’s marriage continues to be tested, and the marriage of convenience between Spencer and Natalie comes under fire as the specter of Loretta’s death hangs between them. Look for Spencer and Elly’s long-simmering flirtation to ratchet up as all this is playing out, too. And plenty of others, such as Molly, Brent, Tim, and Claire, will continue to feel the effects even though Loretta is dead.

In the Shadows: Loretta’s murder isn’t the only mystery at play right now. Sabrina’s apartment was torched in what appears to be an arson, and the first suspect — Carrie, the sister of Sabrina’s late ex — has seemingly been cleared. But the incidents will continue, and soon attention turns to another suspect. This is ultimately a story about Jason and Sabrina’s relationship being tested, especially now that she is living under the same roof as him and Sophie.

A Turbulent Triangle: Trevor has been on-edge for months that Finn will spill about their adulterous tryst and destroy his marriage to Alex. So far, though, Trevor has kept the truth at bay by secretly covering Finn’s rent. Even though Finn has been cleared of any wrongdoing in Loretta’s death, people are still curious about what reason he could have had to be arguing with the villainess in the first place — and since Trevor is the only living person who knows the secret about Finn being Camille Lemieux’s son, he could be the one to put it all together. Look for this story to take some explosive turns in the coming year as Alex gets wise to the fact that there has to be something going on.

Lost and Found: Landon is working hard to track down Sonja and TJ, and they will be definitively located in the first part of the year. Tim, who feels that his life has been on hold with his son missing, is relieved — but some shocking news makes this reunion a less-than-perfect one. While this drama plays out, look for Tim and Claire to continue deepening their relationship, and she will stand by his side as Sonja attempts not to lose TJ to Tim.

At Last: The attraction between Tori and Landon crystallized into something very real in 2024, but they were interrupted on Christmas Day before they could share their first kiss. They will continue to grow closer, while also focusing on helping Tori’s acquaintance, Lucy, whom they fear is a victim of domestic violence. This situation will force Tori to take a hard look at her own history, and we’ll begin to see Lucy assert herself more. This will be a big year for Tori and Landon, who are undeniably into one another but will see themselves tested in a major way. As Tori’s parents, Sarah and Matt will both be involved in this story — especially since Landon is also working with Sarah.

Around King’s Bay: Samantha and Tempest are happily living together, and they’ll begin to discuss what comes next for their relationship… Isaac has a DNA test done on Sienna’s daughter, Noelle, and the audience will get some clarity on Sienna’s motives… Loyalties between Tempest and Isaac are tested, and so are those between Isaac and Diane… Caleb’s relationship with Jasmine hits the skids as their differing priorities become apparent… Christian finds himself working hard to fight a crush.
