SUMMARY

Molly went into labor during her sister, Sarah’s, wedding to Matt Gray and gave birth to twin boys, whom she and Brent named Caleb and Christian. Though Molly and Brent divorced when the twins were young, they maintained a cordial co-parenting relationship, and the boys split their time between their parents’ houses.

In 2017, Caleb and Christian were high-school students at King’s Bay Academy. Caleb — who was more athletic and more involved with the “in-crowd” than his twin — began hanging out with rebellious classmate Jasmine Knight. She took him to a rave and later asked Caleb to purchase drugs for them from her dealer. Unfortunately, said dealer was being tailed as part of the KBPD’s efforts to bring down drug lord Diego Barrera. Officer Rosie Jimenez took Caleb to the station and called his parents, but he evaded charges by telling the police what he knew about the deal. Jasmine was furious and shunned him. Though he was repentant for his actions, Caleb continued to party and act out, especially after learning that his parents had conceived another child during an affair.

Caleb experienced tension at home when he got into an argument with his mother, who was having a high-risk pregnancy and collapsed. Caleb withdrew from his family and reconnected with Jasmine. However, he did offer support to his twin when he recognized that Christian was struggling with his sexuality. When Caleb’s hope of playing soccer at a major university were dashed, he enrolled at King’s Bay University.
