SUMMARY
Claire endured a difficult upbringing. Her father, James, allowed his mob activity to take precedence over his personal life, and his wife, Isabella, left him. Claire felt abandoned by her mother and was shocked when she discovered her father’s criminal involvement. Her first love was Ryan Moriani — the adopted son of James’s business associate, Nick Moriani. But teenaged Claire was left devastated when she was raped. She half-blocked the traumatic event, recalling her assailant as Ryan, but years later, it was revealed that her actual rapist was Ryan’s biological father, the depraved Stan Lincoln.
Hoping to elude her father’s influence, Claire became a nurse and moved to King’s Bay, where she met and married Tim Fisher. But James attempted to exert control over his daughter and even had Tim shot. Though Tim survived, he was left with amnesia, and his calculating boss, Diane Bishop, took advantage of the situation to have sex with him. She gave birth to Tim’s daughter, Samantha, but Claire and Tim stayed together and won custody of the child. James kidnapped Claire and Tim’s own newborn, Travis, and fled to South America with him. The couple heroically rescued their son and returned home.
When an adult Ryan appeared in King’s Bay, Claire grew fixated on bringing down the Moriani crime family for good. A reluctant Tim tried to help her and was presumed dead in a fight on the pier. A grieving Claire struggled, especially when Diane returned to fight her for custody of Samantha. After the truth about Stan raping her came out, Claire and Ryan began to heal and embarked upon a romance. Ryan was discovered to be the son whom Paula Fisher gave up for adoption at birth. Even more shocking was when Tim was discovered to be alive; he’d been held in a clinic in Vermont, comatose, for years. He returned to King’s Bay and feuded with Ryan. Claire tried to make her marriage work but ultimately was unable to resist her connection with Ryan.
They planned to marry, but the wedding was interrupted by the appearance of the thought-dead Nick. He held the couple and their guests captive, revealed that Ryan (not Tim) was the one who’d “murdered” him, and blew up The Fisherman’s Pier. Claire ended her relationship with Ryan and tried to reconnect with Tim, though she was unsuccessful. She and Brent Taylor joined forces to find out who’d aided Nick Moriani in his final revenge mission, and the all-encompassing investigation finally led them to a woman named Loretta Ragan — who revealed herself to be James Robbins’s second wife and the mother of his children. Claire was shocked to learn that she had two half-brothers, Philip and Spencer. Her world was rocked even further when it came out that Spencer was the boy Claire had given birth to years earlier; James had kidnapped his biological grandson, kept him to raise, and bought another baby to pass off as Claire and Tim’s. Claire kept the secret, only to have it come out in dramatic fashion, which earned her the ire of Paula and others. Claire slowly attempted to connect with her biological son while maintaining a relationship with devastated Travis. She also took in runaway Tempest Banks as a foster daughter and supported her when she came out of the closet.
Claire was devastated when her half-brother, Philip, turned out to be the Footprint Killer, who’d murdered Bill Fisher, Ryan, and several other individuals.
She had a brief relationship with Jimmy Trask but found herself fighting feelings for Brent, as they’d grown closer during their investigation into Loretta. They gave into their attraction but decided to proceed with caution in terms of letting others know. A vengeful Spencer outed the relationship, and again Claire found herself facing Paula’s judgment. She and Brent persevered and discussed marriage. On Christmas 2019, Claire expected him to propose, but she was instead shocked to learn that Brent’s ex,Molly, was pregnant with his baby as a result of a one-night stand. After breaking up with Brent, Claire eventually found herself growing closer to Tim again, as she helped him track down his ex, Sonja Kahele, in Hawaii, and discovered that Sonja was hiding Tim’s young son, TJ, from him. In 2023, Claire and Tim made their reunion official.
