SUMMARY

Jake and his brother, Matt, became estranged after Matt had an affair with Jake’s wife, Nicole, who took her own life as a result of the terrible situation. Years later, after falling in love with Matt, Sarah Fisher worked to reunite the brothers. Jake found love with Nicole’s old friend, Mia Davich, and they married and had a son together. They resided in Scranton, Pennsylvania, where the Grays had grown up, but visited occasionally over the years. In 2017, they came to King’s Bay for the grand opening of Bill’s on the Pier, and soon afterward, Jake accepted a job at King’s Bay Academy. The family moved to King’s Bay in early 2018.

After Marcus and his cousin, Tori, were involved in a car accident that led to Tori’s miscarriage and a lengthy hospitalization for Marcus, Jake blamed Matt for the entire sequence of events. An argument between the two led to Jake taking a fall out of his attic window; his injuries left him in need of a kidney transplant. Matt volunteered to be the donor, and when Jake woke up post-operation and learned the truth, the brothers began to mend their rift. Jake also struggled with the fact that Marcus was unable to continue playing football due to his injuries and physical therapy.
