SUMMARY
Marcus was born in 2007 and grew up in Pennsylvania with his parents. The family visited King’s Bay in 2015 for the remarriage of Marcus’s uncle, Matt, and Sarah Fisher Gray. In 2017, the now-teenage Marcus returned to town with his parents for the grand opening of Bill’s on the Pier, in support of Matt. In early 2018, they moved to King’s Bay when Jake accepted a job as athletic director at King’s Bay Academy. Marcus is a thoughtful, sometimes-reserved boy who wasn’t as enthusiastic about playing football as his father — who was also the coach — was about having him play.
In 2019, new driver Marcus was involved in a car accident. His passenger, his cousin Tori, suffered a miscarriage as a result of the accident. Marcus blamed himself for the accident, though Tori assured him that none of it was his fault. He required extensive physical therapy and was unable to play football, much to Jake’s disappointment. Jake blamed his brother, Matt, for the accident and for Marcus’s injuries — but after Jake suffered a near-fatal fall, Matt donated a kidney to save his life, and the brothers reconciled. Marcus received support through the ordeal from his new friends, Christian Taylor and Bree Halston.
