SUMMARY

When Shannon Parish returned to King’s Bay with a reconstructed face, she was going by the name “Sabrina Gage.” As her behavior became more and more troubling, Lauren Brooks and Josh Taylor traveled to Iowa, where they went to the last known home address for Sabrina Gage. They were shocked to find a woman by that name who had been in a vegetative state for years and realized that the woman calling herself in Sabrina had stolen the coma patient’s identity.

In 2015, the King’s Bay PD petitioned a judge to allow them to exhume Shannon’s body as part of the Sandy James murder investigation. This caused legal ripples for the real Sabrina Gage, who had awoken from her coma and was attempting to rebuild her life. She came to King’s Bay to sort out the matter, and Jason was none too pleased to find her there. On her way out of town, she got into a fender bender with photographer Philip Ragan, and their discussion led him to offer her a job as his assistant. Sabrina moved to King’s Bay to accept the position.

After Philip was revealed to be the Footprint Killer, Sabrina was left adrift. However, Jason recognized that she had also been a victim of Shannon and softened toward her. He arranged a job for her at Thaw Coffee & Tea, housed inside his arena. Still, Sabrina needed money, and she actually considered partnering with Spencer Ragan to sell Philip’s unreleased work. When she went to bring him the files she had, however, she discovered Spencer unconscious at the foot of his staircase. Sabrina slowly began to put together that something was amiss about Natalie Bishop’s involvement with Spencer, and she finally conspired with Helen Chase to swipe a DNA sample from Spencer in order to prove that he — not Jason — was the father of Natalie’s son, Peter. Though she felt guilty about how devastated Jason was in the aftermath, Sabrina kept her role in the reveal a secret, feeling that she’s also spared Jason a lifetime of lies. She later admitted to having a crush on him, and Jason told her that he had developed feelings for her, too.
