SUMMARY

The eldest child of Bill and Paula Fisher embarked upon a career in publishing and hoped for a simple life when he married nurse Claire Robbins, whom he met at a mutual friend’s party. However, her mobster father, James Robbins, and Tim’s manipulative boss, Diane Bishop, caused plenty of problems in the marriage. James kidnapped Tim and Claire’s newborn son, Travis, and the couple had to travel to South America to rescue their child. Diane took advantage of Tim’s brief bout of amnesia to coerce him into having sex with her, and she became pregnant with his child. Tim and Claire put up a united front and eventually won custody of his and Diane’s daughter, Samantha.

Tim was presumed dead for several years while trying to help Claire bring down the Moriani crime family. Several years later, he was found to be alive in a clinic in Vermont, being held under the name “Tom Clayton,” on the orders of Nick Moriani and Loretta Ragan. Upon returning home, he discovered that Claire had fallen in love with Ryan — who was actually Tim’s half-brother. He rebuilt his life, but he and Claire were unable to get their marriage back on track. He surprised everyone by dating Diane, who had matured during Tim’s time away. Their relationship ended after Diane realized that he still loved Claire. Tim later became involved with Cassandra Ward, an author hired to help co-write Ryan’s memoirs — but her mysterious past involving a dangerous ex, J.D. Robinson, put Samantha in harm’s way. He cut Cassandra out of his life, and she left town.

The family was rocked when it came out that Travis was not Tim and Claire’s biological son; James had taken the baby to raise with his wife, Loretta, and allowed Claire and Tim to raise a baby that he’d bought from Kathleen Bundy. It was difficult for Tim and Claire to connect with their biological son, Spencer Ragan, but he eventually began working alongside Tim at Vision Publishing. The Fishers were rocked when Philip Ragan, a.k.a. the Footprint Killer, murdered both Bill and Ryan.

After Spencer nearly died from a fall down the stairs, Tim moved him into his home and hired a nurse, Sonja Kahele, to help with Spencer’s recovery. Unbeknownst to the family, Sonja had been hired to feed Spencer subliminal messages to keep his memory of the fall at bay. Tim and Sonja fell for one another, and she was increasingly torn about her secret mission. When she attempted to call it off, Loretta Ragan blackmailed Sonja into leaving town. Tim was left dazed by her sudden exit and lack of explanation. But when he and Claire attempted to find Sonja in order to get her help putting Loretta behind bars, they traveled to Hawaii and found that Sonja was hiding a little boy named TJ, who turned out to be Tim’s child. Tim managed to bring Sonja and TJ back to King’s Bay and put them up in a safehouse to protect them from Loretta, but Sonja grew agitated at the arrangement and eventually fled town with TJ once again. Throughout all this, Tim and Claire grew closer and reunited romantically.
