SUMMARY

Wealthy widow Katherine was firmly opposed to her son Andy’s relationship with Danielle Taylor, their housekeeper at their mansion. She even went so far as to pay off a record executive to offer Danielle, an aspiring singer-songwriter, a recording contract that would take her away from King’s Bay on tour. Andy and Danielle nevertheless overcame Katherine’s schemes and nearly made it to the altar, but Danielle had cold feet about the relationship and instead left town. Katherine became closer to “businessman” Nick Moriani, who was actually a mobster, unaware that he was marrying her for her money. His mob entanglements led to Katherine being shot and the Fitch mansion being burned down, but rather than divorce Nick, Katherine forced him to stay in the marriage for appearances’ sake and do her bidding. After his involvement in a drug ring based out of Objection Designs was exposed, she ended the marriage. She was briefly a suspect when Nick was murdered, but he turned up alive and attempted one final act of revenge before being killed for real in an explosion. Katherine purchased a date with a younger man, Brian Hamilton, at a bachelor auction, and their flirtation led to a genuine friendship.

In 2007, Katherine left King’s Bay to join her son in Seattle. She visited in 2012 for a fundraiser in honor of the late Courtney Chase Fisher and again in 2015 for the funeral of her former stepson, Ryan Moriani.
